let's blog!

I really enjoyed writing these blog posts, and I've been overwhelmed with the email response.

Here's the thing... right now, business is growing quickly, which is a good thing, for all of us.You see, every time more people find out about me, more people improve their health. Isn't it exciting to be a part of this?!

Seriously, I never had any idea what a rewarding career path this would be... let alone, how exciting blogging would become. I've now been working online (in a serious way) for about a week. The word is out, the excitement has arrived.

You are part of something special - I mean this. But it could be even more special with a bit more of a community feel. Do you think you have about 1 minute a day to comment on my blog and share your success/failure stories with everyone else?

You see, if we all agree, than we will have a conversation up there every day, where I can offer you more personalized attention. It's come to the point where answering a bunch of emails is desirable, but difficult. Let's give the "blog thing" a try - what say you?

To your success,

Hi Brandon,

I will enjoy hearing other people's stories. It helps motivate me to learn from people "just like me"!

I've been seriously working out for about a year and a half now. Until then, I was "just a mom & wife", and I didn't take fitness seriously. My idea of exercise was loading the kids into the car to go to THEIR soccer games/track meets/swimming lessons, etc. One day, when I could no longer fit into my "big jeans", I decided to take the plunge. I drove by Prairie Life that night, saw the lights on, people running the track, and made the decision to call the next day. I drug my husband along, kicking and screaming the whole way, trying to convince him that it would be "us" time! Walking up the stairs was a workout in itself! I was scared, but motivated to become fit and healthy. He was scared that I would become a nag and not let him eat his favorite foods anymore! (there's truth in that, and he feels better for it!!!)

The next day, my biggest fear came true. WHAT WOULD I WEAR TO A GYM????? I envisioned perfectly sculpted bodies wearing leotards and thongs, and I just knew that "a middle-aged-mom" with a "soft" body like mine wouldn't fit in! Thank heavens I was wrong!!! People come in all shapes and sizes, even at a gym! I decided that what I wore wasn't important; more importantly, I was there. THAT was an accomplishment for me.

My husband and I hit the Jackpot! We were introduced to Brandon Musick, personal trainer with more motivation that we could imagine! We started slowly, stayed fairly consistent, and began our journey to health and fitness. We have sessions with Brandon three times a week, mostly individual, occasionally together. I think that it's important to schedule several times a week, because then training becomes a habit. I also don't want to disappoint Brandon by not showing up, because ultimately it's a bigger disappointment to myself and my body if I don't stay consistent with my trainer!

We have seen great results; we still have more to do. I know now that fitness will be a life long journey; not simply a quick diet/fad exercise. I told Brandon in the beginning that my goal was "a little black dress". Well, he and I have accomplished that....almost 20 lbs. and 3 sizes smaller than I was!

We have the holidays coming up; I will be challenged as we have more parties laden with food; I will cook more for my family and friends, and I am "a taster" when I cook. The exercise part isn't as hard for me now as just eating better. My goal is not to weigh more on New Year's Day than I should! NOTHING tastes as good as thin feels!!!!

Later..........Jo

Great blog Jo! thanks for the compliments. I hope you have motivated others to Burn the FAT! Now is the time! We'll do it together, all of us. 1 LB at a time, 1 dress size at a time, 1 inch at a time.

Thanks again Jo

glad you are addicted to blogging like I am. I just don't have that much interesting stuff to say on a daily basis.
Day 2 of the work out went great. I am enjoying working all the muscles on each workout. The legs are sore, but I fought thru the soreness and I am glad that I did, my legs feel better!
